The form gives advice as to what a Cultural Champion is and the types of support we celebrate. We invite you to consider who you would like to nominate and bring to the event as your organisation’s cultural champion. Once we have received your nomination we will be in touch to confirm your places at the event – previous events have proved popular, and we have a finite capacity, so please apply as soon as possible for the greatest chance of success.

On Tuesday 31st January 2012,  individuals, arts organisations, and businesses from London, Sussex, Kent, Norfolk, and Devon came together for a reception at the Foundling Museum in Holborn to celebrate cultural philanthropy and individual giving where it matters most...in the local community!

Hosted by Nick Hurd MP, the Minister for Civil Society, this was an opportunity to recognise and thank those who give so much to the arts, with their time, money and experience.  The  30 Cultural Champions were acknowledged by the Minister and Arts & Business for their invaluable support, and presented with certificates.

Part of an England-wide programme, Arts & Business Cultural Champions, which began in 2010, commends those individuals and businesses who support the arts. The receptions show that philanthropy doesn’t have to be just about the well-off, but can be part of a much bigger story from all elements of society up and down the country, helping local communities through supporting the arts.

The event at the Foundling Museum kick-started our Cultural Champions Celebrations for 2012. And we're very keen to celebrate Cultural Champions from the South West, Midlands and North West so please do nominate your local arts heroes - see the righthand side for details!
