Young Professionals on Arts Boards
An extension of Board Bank, this bold and unique programme aims to detect the best up-and-coming talents that British business has to offer and place them on the boards of leading arts charities in the UK.
Training & Development
All young professionals on the programme receive full governance training by experts and will be given access to an experienced mentor. We also encourage our Young Professionals to develop their own valuable network via a series of sociable, cultural events organised by A&B.
Benefits
Working with other high flying professionals in arts leadership can rapidly advance each individual’s personal and career development. It is also a highly rewarding way to engage with the UK’s fantastic cultural sector and to put something back into the community by delivering on personal and CSR goals.
Gaining experience as a non-executive director and trustee further develops key skills including:
• Strategic Management
• Leadership
• Influence
• Problem solving
• Creative thinking
• Confidence building
• Sense of citizenship
• Networks and relationships
How does the programme work?
We aim to match trained and motivated people between the ages of 18-30 with professional arts organisations hungry for their energy and modern skill-set. In addition, we ensure that each individual is fully supported during their first year on the board, as well as offering a blended learning programme to encourage their professional development.
The programme includes an interview and consultation session, one day training course, a matching service, guidance of experienced mentors, a board buddy scheme, networking events and on-going support from a dedicated manager at Arts & Business.
